About Lucy

Growing up in rural Oxfordshire I was surrounded by English cottage interior style and unusual antiques. Having trained and obtained a degree in Textile Design, I moved to London where I gained some experience in the interiors industry. I worked for a number of small businesses; from a rug company, to building specialists, to a luxury soft furnishing company.

I then made the move to Singapore where I worked for an international interior designer. I worked closely with local craftsmen, where I assisted in delivering client project briefs, as well as sourcing interesting bits and bobs for projects from all around the world.

Whilst in Asia, I travelled extensively and I was constantly inspired by the vibrancy of the tropics and the multiple cultures we explored. It opened my eyes to the huge number of amazingly skilled makers that there are globally. As well as travel, I have always loved small antiques and hunting down unique items, whether it be at auctions, charity shops or junk stores. I enjoy finding old and new items that work together to create unique and personal spaces. The joy of an interior for me is when it tells a story…a collation of an individual’s pieces gathered over time.

Having made the move back to the UK, I wanted to create my own small business that showcased my love of textiles, interior design, artwork and unique finds.

If there is anything I can help you with, I would love to hear from you. Please do not hesitate to contact me on lucy@lucymadeleinedesign.com or +44 (0)7747705485.
